The highly contagious COVID-19 Delta variant is causing an increase in COVID cases among both unvaccinated and vaccinated individuals, and our region is not exempt from this rising infection rate. Seneca County, as well as the regions around our Depew and Levittown health centers, have recently been classified areas of "substantial" virus transmission by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The CDC strongly recommends that all people in substantial or high transmission areas wear masks to help slow COVID's spread. With the safety of our campus and community at top of mind, and in alignment with the scientific evidence before us, Northeast College of Health Sciences is following the CDC's guidance. Effective immediately, all faculty, staff, students, and visitors (regardless of vaccination status) are required to wear masks within campus facilities when in public spaces and/or close proximity to others.

As we continue to prepare for a safe on-campus Fall term, it may seem disheartening that our region is again experiencing an increase in COVID cases. It is important to emphasize that as a health sciences-focused institution, we are committed to leading by example and doing our part to protect ourselves and our community. That has always been, and continues to be, the #NortheastBlue Way.
